RailOpt live at CFL Since exactly one week, on the 17th November at 10:15, the departments “Short-term Planning” and “Operations Management” at CFL (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) have been working exclusively with the help of software. The entire production process of traction resources is now covered by the software RailOpt. Doing resource planning on sheets of paper is history. According to Cyril Barthels, Manager of Short-term Planning and Operations Management at CFL, the transition went smoothly, which can be accredited to the good preparation and large effort of the teams on sides of the CFL and Qnamic: “Since the 17th November, 18 further employees have been working with RailOpt around the clock. The dispatchers are especially pleased about the fact that RailOpt checks all work-time rules. The transition from paper to RailOpt was a very important step for us to ensure quality, transparency and security.” CFL has been a customer of Qnamic since 2006. Next to the CFL, the CFL Cargo, a joint venture between CFL and ArcelorMittal, plans its traction resources with RailOpt.
