SOB: Now dispatching 24x7 |
15/01/2009
SOB: Now dispatching 24x7 Südostbahn SOB (Switzerland) has recognised the synergies of simultaneous planning and has adapted their planning concept and organisational structure accordingly. Since the timetable change in December 2008, SOB has been operating 15 hour shifts every day of the week. Before this, dispatchers only worked during regular office hours. The entire planning process - for personnel and rolling stock - is now based on RailOpt. This is why future maintenance to the IT infrastructure at SOB will be performed only at night. Qnamic Inc. has responded to SOB’s changing needs and has increased their support activities to also cover SOB’s 24x7 operation. In addition to regular support, Qnamic now also offers Help-Desk activities for SOB’s RailOpt users around the clock. Urs Oberholzer, RailOpt Project Manager at SOB, is expecting to see further increases in efficiency due to the organisational restructuring: “The expansion of our operation requires heightened flexibility of our employees, but also a higher rate of availability for Qnamic. We can safely rely on this expanded support.” |
