SOB expands RailOpt Passenger with RailOpt DIS After the BLS AG (Switzerland), the Südostbahn SOB AG (Switzerland) has also decided to implement the add-on module RailOpt DIS (Driver Information System) to prepare the activity documents for their driver personnel on their own. Until now, SOB has used SBB’s Locomotive Personnel Electronic Assistant LEA. SOB has been planning and dispatching its personnel and rolling stock with Qnamic Inc.’s RailOpt software since 2005. This RailOpt application will now be expanded with the Driver Information System DIS. RailOpt DIS is an integrated driver information system which contains all data necessary for train operation, such as service plans, route time tables or slow speed rails. RailOpt DIS can easily be integrated into the existing RailOpt applications SOB currently operates on. After the timetable change in December 2009, SOB drivers will have access to all the important information concerning timetables and route data via RailOpt using mobile devices. The route data is administered in its own RADN database. |
