FHNW Project at Qnamic |
21/07/2009
FHNW Project at Qnamic Due to Qnamic Inc.’s rapid growth, its document base has increased to majestic sizes. To improve knowledge management of the geographically distributed teams, it is important to structure and make documents reusable, as well as reducing the research effort to a minimum. This challenge will now be faced by three Business Informatics students at the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW) in the course of their seminar project. The result of the project will be a concept for the introduction of a Document Management System, which matches the organisational structures and considers the individual department’s requirements at Qnamic Inc. Barbara Thönssen, the responsible professor at FHNW, values the cooperation between companies and students: “It allows students to gain practical experience by performing a project on their own, with the theory they learned at FHNW. On the other hand, companies gain an insight to the teachings at FHNW and can harness the student’s knowledge of state of the art technologies.” Dirk Pfeiffer, CEO of Qnamic Inc., also sees a great benefit of the cooperation and emphasizes the bond between FHNW and Qnamic Inc.: “It is important to cooperate for projects that are beneficial to both sides, especially during economically difficult times like these.” Qnamic Inc. has, since its founding, worked closely with university level schools in Switzerland and Germany. The company is always interested in projects or internships with students, as well as the recruitment of graduates in the computer science disciplines. |
