Swiss Work Time Rules in RailOpt

Adhering to regulations in the rail world continually grows more important. Qnamic AG has a specific task force dedicated to the topic of work time rules and regular user group meetings of Swiss customers.

In the past, the group oriented itself by the special requirements of individual customers. The customers order changed or new regulations as software updates, which Qnamic AG configures and embeds into the RailOpt application.

Now, the Qnamic AG task force is aiming to become more proactive in the Swiss market. A joint process with the BAV (Bundesamt für Verkehr, Department for Traffic), which is responsible for the monitoring of adherence to work time rules, was developed.

Information concerning future adjustments to the labour regulations will be received directly from the BAV, instead of receiving individual orders from customers. The interpretation of the change is then validated by BAV. Individual customer adaptations are still possible, before the new version of the regulations are delivered at the time the law takes effect.

The new process provides all Swiss customers with a complete, standardised, and up-to-date work time rule packet. The individuality of all customers is still guaranteed, since customers can edit the parameters according to their internal requirements.
